​Read this newsletter in 'light mode'

This is a start of a relationship I want to have with my audience and also with my own practice; to organize and document all the progress I make and the ideas I have when I'm creating my digital artworks.

On X, I sometimes share process videos that Procreate exports, where every change in the layers gets compressed into 30 seconds or couple minutes. Those clips are fun, but they sometimes doesn't show the specific moments where something shifts, when the work really finds its direction. That’s what I want to document/share and spotlight here.

For me, art is about sharing. I’m open to hearing other people’s views and critiques — they inspire me to see things differently. Along the way, I’d also like to bring in guest writers to reflect on my work or open up conversations around it.

Before I go further, I want to give a shout out to arts writer Nina Knaack, who’s been helping me shape this newsletter and give it more life. She also wrote the 'about' section on my website (button below if you want to check it). I’m excited to invite her thoughts into my practice.

What's been going on

Lately, I’ve been really inspired to create new works that don’t necessarily belong to a series or collection — just single artworks, with single stories, and rich with details.

Right now, there are two art pieces I personally really like: Cult and My Dog Has A Long Leash.

My Dog Has A Long Leash started from a quick sketch I posted on Twitter. I was just letting my hand flow and seeing where the scribbles went. Then I saw Pablo’s tweet, and it clicked for me. It didn't matter what the work would portray, I just wanted to create and have fun. These fast sketches can surprise me, and I like the energy of it.

​Funny thing is I never even had a dog (also, I’m more of a cat person tbh — as you can see on the photo below).

I feel that with these quick sketches, even though they emerge from randomness, the resulting artwork often acquires a meaning that only reveals itself to me over time — sometimes a day later, sometimes weeks, and occasionally not until (more than) a year has passed.

The work My Dog Has a Long Leash is still in progress. I am refining its final details (as of this moment of writing on 30/08/2025) and trust that its meaning will become clearer to me in time. For now, it offers me an interesting metaphor of a long leash with endless possibilities — open to interpretation, and perhaps best left to unfold differently for each viewer.

Coming soon

Cult is already finished, but I’ll keep it a secret for now. If you follow me on socials, you'll see some details of the work in the coming weeks.

It will be fully revealed soon and minted through SILK — the art house that I also collaborated with for my latest collection, Stories on Circles.
